Hmm, since I seem to update this only once in a blue moon, here you go!

First of all - thank you to everyone who has commented on or favorite-d my deviations!  Also thanks for all of the new watchers - I'm sorry I haven't done much new, but you'll soon read why:

Just finished my first year of graduate school at MIIS for International Environmental Policy.  Whoa man, I feel like I learned more in this one year than I did during 4 years at undergrad.  It's so nice to learn cohesive, practical things.  Although now I wish I'd majored in marine biology.  Haha oops.

So I've spent the last 9-ish months in Monterey, California.  Beautiful place, but even with being able to see harbor seals and sea lions and sea otters on a regular basis, I'm a little sick of it and I can't wait to be back home in Iowa.  For an entire week.  After that I will be off to Plymouth, Massachusetts for an internship with a conservation organization where I will get to do research on whales in the Stellwegan National Marine Sanctuary.  |D  I'm hoping to get naturalist training for whale watching as well, and learn how to do photo-identification and much more.

My Plymouth internship will last until mid December and I'll be creating a certain type of portfolio for credit with MIIS, which will take care of that fall semester.  Once I'm done in MA, I'll be back home for Christmas for a bit.  January is up in the air right now as it depends on if there is a J-term class I would like to take or what have you, but either way I'll be back in Monterey for my final semester in spring of 2011.  I've been madly researching volunteer and internship opportunities to make the most of my final semester.

In the meantime, I haven't been doing much cosplay.  I kind of miss my sewing machine, but I wouldn't have had time for it anyway.  I'm hoping to take it out to MA with me, but it's still up in the air right now.  I did make an appearance at Sakura-con with Aqua and the new wig - unfortunately I haven't had any time to get around to looking at the photos yet   But it was lots of fun.

Fanime is next weekend, and I will probably be going up late Friday after my practicum day  (three week practicum starts on Monday, aha!), but most likely won't be cosplaying and just hanging out with for the weekend at her booth.

So three weeks left in Monterey, home for a week, and then summer and fall on the East coast!


In lieu of my non-cosplayness, I will probably work on getting some of my photography up here.  It's nothing terribly special, but be forewarned that the jellyfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium are very photogenic, and I had quasi-close encounters with some sea lions the other weekend.  Also to appear: baby seals.  |Db

Hope that people have been enjoying the new photos!  I was so excited when Kevin got them up.  They were well worth the wait!  Hopefully there will be a few more later in the Sakura costume I made for ACEN.

LoL not really sure many people will care, but hey.

I'm going to be moving in a little over a month to Monterey, California for graduate school.  I'll be studying International Environmental Policy and I'm hoping to get a cool work study or volunteer opportunity at the aquarium 8D

I probably won't have much opportunity for cosplaying.  I might try to take Aqua along because I can fit it all in one relatively small box, lol.  However conventions will be kind of iffy.  I'm hoping to get cheap tickets from San Jose to Detroit for Youmacon, but I don't know how that will work out since obviously I don't have my class schedule figured out yet.  If Youmacon isn't doable, I might go for one day up to YaoiCon for grins, just 'cuz it's close (relatively).

I'm hoping I'll meet someone who will put up with my weird costuming habits and maybe someday we can go down to the bay and do some photos of Aqua by the sea XD;;  just a fun little idea.

Ummm...yeah.  LOL I know I don't really read other people's journals on DA, so I'm not gonna string this out too long, fff.

May or may not take ONE extra commission this summer in the next few weeks.  I'll make a post if I do.

Just giving a shout out saying I'll be at AnimeCentral in Chicago (Rosemont) this weekend!  Aqua will be having a third run and I'm hoping to have a couple more new costumes, but one is still waiting on a wig x.x;;  Also I plan to be doing more photography - haven't updated very much of my photography here, but you can find my photos on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/magnetic… ~~

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has recently added me to their deviantwatch or favorited or commented on any of my recent work.  I really appreciate it!  If you ever have any questions about anything I've done, just feel free to ask!

I'm hoping to upload some of the photos that I took at Ohayocon.  I still have another set to edit >.<  So much to do!

ALSO - I am taking a short hiatus from wig commissions for a while.  I've been so incredibly busy over the last few months and I just need a break!  I'm also going to be working on grad school stuff, so I have to get that out of the way.

My next convention is most likely going to be AnimeCentral.  I am considering hosting a wig panel, but haven't yet decided.  Just another thing to add to my to do list!

Not that I ever announced on here that I was CLOSED, but I am taking wig commissions again.

I will take 5 commissions between now and Ohayocon 2009 (Jan. 29-Feb 1).
